Upon hearing his mother’s words, his body sprang up and wrapped arms around her frail figure. Silence loomed over the two for a quick moment as the young jinchuuriki tried his best to wrap his head around everything that was being said. He always believed in that… Believed that thinking about the people he needed to protect gave him the strength he needed to keep fighting, to keep getting stronger.

“What if something happens to me and I can’t protect them anymore though? I don’t want anything to happen to them… To Sasuke… To the child we decide to adopt… Not even you and tou-chan… I don’t want anyone to be put in danger because of me. I know I can do it, I know I’ll kick anyone’s ass that comes near them… I’m just really scared ‘ttebayo.”

Frame began shaking as he remained close to his mother’s.

“I’m sorry kaa-chan… I don’t know what I’m saying anymore…”

The sudden movement made her heart cringe, for now the crimsonette had felt a great and genuine fear ruling over the conflicted heart of her beloved son. It is a dreadful sight to see—-having him like this.

After listening to his words, arms wrapped tightly around the masculine frame of his son, reassuring him everything would be okay, even just in gestures like this. Though, her smile grew a little wider, knowing that he deeply cares about everyone he loves. Sasuke-kun’s strong, and I don’t think anyone could hurt me and your dad, ya know? Besides, we’re not known in Konoha for nothing, a chuckle, before eyes lidded, lilac optics averting to her son’s directions. No one’s going to be in danger because of you, I know that. No one. Even my dearest soon-to-be grandchild, a lump in the throat when she said that— No one would get hurt, I assure you that ‘ttebane. So don’t be scared. Don’t be…” In a hush tone she assured, slender dactyls now running through his soft, blond hair.
